Im fairly new to the DX with only a few contacts made from a base. But today after finishing up some last minute xmas shopping. I was on the mobile and some of the locals on base radios were having some trouble hearing me so i pulled off the highway down to the sound. and keyed up to see if my tx was any better. With modulation as strong as the local contacts "0-0-2-2" i believe it was from michigan came through reporting a strong clear copy from my ancient 148 mobile. Figured id share, It kind of suprised me as i was thinkin maybe it was on its last leg or something as to why people were unable to hear me. The local guys heard michigan tx's back to me and were like well it must be workin then. I just dont know why turned out that way.
