I'm new to the area, so not yet familiar with the local frequencies and usage.

I've found that 123.5 is used as an advisory for the practice areas in a 38 mile radius of KPRC. I've been listening to that for the past few months.

Recently I've been hearing similar advisories on 123.3. Hearing the locations given, and using ADS-B, it appears 123.3 is also being used for the same purpose and areas. This morning I've been hearing traffic on 123.3 mostly for the Orem practice area.

I'm wondering if anyone can tell me what is the difference between using 123.3 and 123.5 in the Prescott area for a/c advisories.

123.500 is the freq adopted by Emery Riddle, I wonder if that was getting too busy so others might have moved off to 123.300. I think there are a couple other flight schools that work out of Prescott and there might have been too many aircraft working in the area.

This AM on 123.3 I heard an a/c advise another a/c "You're operating on a local flight school frequency. It's not an issue right now, but I'm just giving you a heads-up".

I didn't get any ID on either a/c, but it seems that in the Prescott area both 123.3 and 123.5 have been 'claimed' as a local p/a advisory frequency.

123.300 MHz is licensed to Guidance Helicopters (WQKJ280) while 123.500 MHz is licensed to Embry-Riddle (KAL2) but was also agreed upon by the Arizona Flight Training Working Group as a practice area common for deconfliction.

The problem with ERU is that they flew out of Love Field initially, then decided that KPRC is rather busy and they've transitioned some instruction to P52. In doing so, they overfly the residential areas of Clarkdale and Jerome and not the open air spaces of the Verde Valley. They are also coming close into airspace used by KSEZ traffic and neither KSEZ or P52 have control towers.

Riddle student here. I'm not sure if anyone will see this message, but you know...

123.500 is used north of Drake between the 030° radial and the 210° radial, and conversely, 123.300 is used south of Drake. For example, 123.3 is used in the Cottonwood area, and 123.5 is used in the Big Spring area.

Thank you, that DOES help. I'll make a note of that in my log.
Coincidentally, When I moved here two years ago the house I bought was owned by an ERU student who had just graduated and was taking a job in GA.
While I have you here, I listen to ERU ops on 122.825. I'm also hearing what sounds like ERU a/c on 131.675. Is that also an ERU ops freq?
And lastly, air-to-air chatter on 122.225, sounds like Riddle aircraft. Are they using this freq also?
