So the specs for this scanner say it goes to 1300 MHz, specifically it show a range from 1240-1300. Why can't I get it to search for frequencies above 960 MHz? I haven't found a mode yet that will scan or search above 960, and if I manually enter a frequency above 960 I get a message that says "out of band, press any key".

Is there something special you have to do to get it above 960 MHz or is my scanner defective?

Your scanner doesn't cover that range. It will only do 1240-1300 like it says.

There isn't much there so you aren't really missing anything.

Ya, that is the range I can't get it to do anything on. It simply won't go above 960MHz period.

There really isn't anything I want to listen to in the range, I just noticed while trying to search for frequencies that might be causing interference or over powering my scanner.

I am not concerned with if I am missing anything by not hearing those ranges. What I am concerned with is it is listed as a feature and the specs say it can monitor 1240-1300 MHz but I can't get to actually do it. Either I am doing something wrong, or the scanner doesn't work as advertised. And if that doesn't work right, what else might not be working right?

Ha Ha, Kevin is right. I looked at the box and the info that came with it and it all says coverage ends at 960MHz. I got the 1240-1300 from the RR website on the 325p2 lol.

BCD325P2 - The RadioReference Wiki

I have seen that spec listed in other places too, but you are right Kevin, nothing officially from Uniden. Thanks for smacking with a stupid stick lol.

So in the end, yes it was something I was doing wrong, big shock there. I was using faulty information and trying to get the device to do something it can't.

Someone can delete this entire thread if they want since it was just operator error.

1240 -1300 MHz is the 23 cm amateur radio band. Not sure if there's any activity, never listened up there but will check it out.
