I just bought my first scanner and would like to be able to use it if/when the power goes out. Is there an cable/adapter that will allow me to connect it to a 12v battery?

DC Cable with fuse!

One should be included with the scanner (page 2 of the user manual).

I see it now. Thanks. I assume I can just strap it to a 12v battery in the house, rather than taking it out to the car? If a power outage, I want to listen inside the house.

Yes, that is correct. Make sure you get the polarity correct. The inner tip is (+) Positive, and the outer barrel is (-)Negative. -(+)

You might find it even sounds better when connected to a 12V battery, vs the AC adapter.
