I use my BCD325P in my car, I’m currently running it using a 12V-24V to 5V-1A adapter from a nearby accessory port. RadioShack catalog # 2700226.
I’d like to run the scanner directly off the car battery.
Is anyone else doing this? If so, can you tell me or provide a link for the 12V to 5V USB adapter you use?
I did this when I used my HP1 in my truck and it worked fine. Now I’m driving a 2017 Subaru Forester and I much prefer the hand held to the HP1 or II for use in the car.
Thank you in advance...

Use a cigarette lighter plugin for USB devices. Missing link is the cigarette lighter socket wired to connect to a 12v battery.

Both items are common and easily searched for.

My apologies if I missed what you are asking about.

First off, thank you for the reply
You know, that’s probably the easiest solution, I’m just a little hesitant to put this up inside my dash, I guess if leave it accessible it should be fine, Do you think it would be ok to wrap some electrical tape around the whole thing and just run the usb wire into the part of my console where the scanner is?
Thanks again

I don't see a problem with your idea.

The link that phask supplied is good to.
