• Effective immediately we will be deleting, without notice, any negative threads or posts that deal with the use of encryption and streaming of scanner audio.

We've noticed a huge increase in rants and negative posts that revolve around agencies going to encryption due to the broadcasting of scanner audio on the internet. It's now worn out and continues to be the same recycled rants. These rants hijack the threads and derail the conversation. They no longer have a place anywhere on this forum other than in the designated threads in the Rants forum in the Tavern.

If you violate these guidelines your post will be deleted without notice and an infraction will be issued. We are not against discussion of this issue. You just need to do it in the right place. For example:

Any ideas which state or federal agency is using this frequency for data? The frequency appears to be active throughout the State of Wisconsin.

The FCC "CIVILIAN" database is not showing ANY licensees on that frequency in the US anywhere under their ULS or CABLE DATA listings. However, if you check certain areas of the net, you will see that it is assigned to FEMA through IRAC Government protocols.

Try this info for that frequency and others in that range... (From a 'phantom' source in Arlington, Virginia...)

I'm going erect a 15,000 foot tower with quad stacked Cushcraft 13B2's and listen for those "Soviet Manned Space Program" freq's :)

(The proceeding post WAS A JOKE!)

I don't remember which site I saw this information on, but this frequency and a few other 139 MHz frequencies are supposedly used for State Patrol MDT's.

Actually the 'Russian' space program is the joke... LOL

When I was a kid I really wanted to be an Astronaut - so all I took up in school was 'space'...

LOL, you wouldn't have needed one in the MIR days, you could hear 143.625 in NFM mode with a cheap handheld and paper clip for an antenna when they were over head. Your money would have been better spent on Russian lessons, Da?
