Thunderbird activity heard on 140.20000am, Friday mid afternoon via pro94 with mag mount antenna..This has been the best dedicated scanner for listening to aircraft by far!!! Did anyone else in the area happen to monitor any of the comms?? I have never heard military frequencies active in Austin..I do listen to milcomms on shortwave mostly. Sorry I have not posted in a long time!!!
I always check out this site on a daily basis!!! I'm rambling on!!LoL:)

I'll see what I can come up with. I was planning on one back in May, but it didn't work out. So I thought June, but it didn't fit in either. July is almost gone now, so maybe sometime in August.

140.2 MHz

Hello.

The Air National Guard runs 140.2 MHz when talking to other units such as Civil Air Patrol.
AM will almost always be 25 KHz spacing and from 118 to 149.975 MHz or 225 to 399.975 MHz.
FM may be 25 KHz spacing but down 10 KHz.
This is in addition to the new channel spacing at 118 to 136 MHz.
Thus 140.2 and 140.225 MHz are normally AM but 140.150 would be FM.
Remember, with the storm damage comes recon missions.
And, to add confusion, the radios are also sometimes found from 156.3 to 162 MHz.
Guard channels are,
40.5 MHz FM.
121.5 MHz AM.
156.8 MHz FM.
243.0 MHz AM.
And 406 MHz Phase modulated digital.
