Aurora U/D: Fire is not U/C, req 2 more engines to staging above the 2nd alarm and command reporting remains DWH.

Aurora U/D: Command has just aired emer alert tone to confirm the additional crews are out, all operations going to defensive and PAR underway.

Its a good thing it wasn't windy, the whole building would have burned to the ground...

AURORA - Fire crews are working on a fire that broke out at an apartment complex near Buckley and Iliff, Sunday afternoon.

A call came in around 1:45 p.m. and it took firefighters about an hour to put out the blaze.

Officials are reporting extensive damage to the building and half of the roof has been destroyed.

The fire occurred at the Hickory Ridge Apartments, officials said.

Fire investigators are still trying to determine the cause of the blaze, however eye witnesses reported seeing juveniles playing with fireworks in the bushes right next to the building prior to the fire.

According to fire investigators, no one was injured in the fire.

While on scene, I couldn't help notice how the side of the building burned, then it dawned on me, fire goes up!
