141.7 Very Active San Antonio

Today 141.7 (AM) has been very active with aircraft transmissions. Activity has been much more than usual.

I'm picking it up on a Pro20-96 with stock antenna in New Braunfels.

Are you hearing any call signs? It's a military frequency, and could be Fort Hood or TX National Guard air ops. Army active and Reserve/National Guard tactical outfits use letter-number-letter call signs (Tango Eight November, for example) during tactical training. They also use "Positive Voice" call signs at times which are words followed by a numerical suffix, i.e., LIMBO 94. Aircraft serial numbers, or tail numbers as they're sometimes referred to, are also used, i.e., "Army 76-0144."

I didn't write down any of the call signs, I hear these fequency in use from time to time and it is usually plane to plane traffic.
