Dumb question: what is a 'yoniq' decoder? I know well what MM-SSTV is but never heard that term before

By the way many HF pirates also use SSTV

I haven’t had an SSTV QSO in years. I should send a few again. There was and perhaps still is a website that was automated with received images. I used to test using 20 and 40 watts. I think it was in the midwest U.S. Ha! I just remembered there were the occasional nudes sent from Europe. Thankfully not of the operators themselves . :)

I'm the same.. Haven't transmitted an SSTV image in years.. But I still enjoy the mode as an observer. Like Saint, I often tune in to 14230 kHz just to watch the pictures scroll by. Always interesting :)

Most SSTV folks in the US camp out on 14.230. There are some folks dabbling with digital SSTV on 14.233 using software called EasyPal and some others. Analog SSTV does take a bit more power to be successful. I sometimes struggle to get out with 100W, but sometimes the propagation gods are forgiving. You can check your propagation and watch other folks pics on a couple of web sites that host SSTV picture sharing.
