Hi All

I'm picking up a couple of truck drivers ? on 150.0000 mhz right now somewhere close to libby. Canadian truckers maybe ? Scanned through the other frequencies to see if it might have been an image and not getting them. Hmmmm

Ok, checked the fcc genmen site and there are a lot of industry users on that frequency in the us. So must be truckers passing through.

150.0000 is not a valid US Business Freq.

What you are likely finding in the FCC is the "DEMO" licenses, which allow a
Radio Shop/Salesperson to Demo a Radio on a short-term basis.

If you click on the license, then on the Frequencies, you will see it is for a Range
ie: 150-174

Oops !!! Yeah I seen that. Hmmm. Those truckers were back again this morning in libby for awhile. I wonder if they are going to the weigh scales behind the old lumber mill ? Could be as a lot of trucks go there to get their weight. There is a public walk path just to the east of the shack so I might take my portable with me down there when I here them next time. Ah, they show up on wednesday mornings, ok.

There is a small internationally allocated satellite band from 149.9-150.05. There should not be any FM voice users there.

yeah, I know about the satellite band there as I sometimes get a satellite on 150.0150 mhz.

Their back again. The truckers are on 150.0000 mhz right now, talking. They are from missoula I think. They run between missoula, kalispell and libby. I hear them mention missoula and kalispell a lot. Chip truck drivers maybe? Missoula cartage ?

I'd be astonished if they were Canadians on precisely 150.0000. Alberta and British Columbia have a bunch of frequencies that are allocated in both provinces for truckers to yap on.

Being truckers, they are not always adhering perfectly to the rules, so you may hear them in MT on these freqs. I know that it's happened at least once....

That satellite band is the earth to space band 149.900 - 150.050
Space to earth band is from 136 - 138 mhz (137.995 ?)

That 150.0150 mhz stuff I'm hearing is very weak. sounds like some kind of data signal. Earth station to space (satellite) transmission. I wonder where it's coming from?
