151.385 Testing

Heard testing by DPS on 151.385 "AIR 2" to any aircraft monitoring..sounded like the person testing was on a repeater but no pl was showing up. Also he was responding to someone who must have been simplex or to far away for me to hear. Oh everything was analog too

When did you hear it? It might have had something to do with firefighting.
Yesterday afternoon there was a large wildland fire out here near Palo Pinto.
There were several helitankers and a heavy air tanker making water drops.
There was another fire south of Dallas someplace that a couple of the helicopters went to.

I just notice you are in San Antonio. No telling what you heard then.

Yup hear in SA about 8:30 this morning heard the testing, figured it might be spotter aircraft looking for fires, since there are some many brush fires popping up

Yesterday, Leon Springs and Boerne (among others) had a large grass/brush fire working. TFS crews relocating to the SA area followed the hge smoke plume on their way towards San Antonio and actually assisted in this event.

Just a note that not all repeaters rebroadcast the CTCSS tones. This makes simply scanning for the codes difficult.
