Hi folks - I am picking up locally (Lakewood area) digital transmitions on 152.660 Mhz and it is not P25 so just wondering if anyone knows what service it is. This is an old Radio Telephone(RT) freq so it must have been re-allocated by the fcc however I have not been able to find an fcc listing for it. Its pretty strong in this area.

It might be one of the new digital formats - MotoTRBO or IDAS or NXDN but I have no way to confirm this.

If anyone knows or has an idea I would appreciate any input.

It is a Part 22 paging frequency. It could be some type of paging or digital messaging, or
sometimes the FCC grants waivers so that the licensees, who bought the block frequencies for their market area in an auction, can let other entities uses their frequencies for other purposes including business and public safety trunking.

I have been listening to this in hopes of hearing a cw id but every now & then
I briefly hear analog audio so I am not sure what it could be. Very strange.

On the FCC database, try doing a block search from say 152.64 to 152.68....it may not be right on 152.66....could be a new splinter freq like 152.6675. That could explain why its not showing up in the DB on 152.66

Did that and came up with zero.

Its definately centered on 152.660 as I can hear it weaker on either side of 660.

The FCC website seems to acting strange today, 2nd search turned up a bunch of results
but this seems to be the one that may be the target although there is no exact frequency
specified - just two ranges in vhf & uhf. Seems to be a demonstration radio system - perhaps
for possible future sales for AR Communications, Inc.

I have a similar situation in northern Monmouth County on 154.485
Doesn't sound like paging. Sounds like digital conversations back & forth with a repeater hang time. Maybe TRBO sounding. But can't find any thing listed in the FCC db.

I wonder if you're hearing telemetry from utility companies using 154.47875?

They also use:

154.45625 telemetry
154.46375 telemetry
154.47125 telemetry

The other closest allocated frqs are:
154.4825
154.4900
154.4975
