152 MHz licenses??

Somewhere in a RR forum, I saw a process to find licenses not in the regular FCC database. For example, 2 counties over the sheriff in McDonald Co MO is on 152.09, (an old paging fq?) listing in RR is correct. How to find this license as a regular search comes up blank.

A - The information is in the RR database because a RR member submitted it.

B - The agency is probably not licensed to use that frequency. They would not be the first agency to operate on a frequency without a valid license. The RR database shows 152.8100 and 152.0900 both of which they hold no license to use.

Also 152.45000 and 152.4200 are listed as "McD Law*West", and "McD F/E Tac3" which were both licensed to a Jared Richmond and not the county.

You can also get a "letter of authorization" from an agency to use their frequency. This commonly happens when an adjoining agency wants to "inter-operate" with another agency. The holder of the license can issue a letter of authorization to allow another agency to use their frequency. The license holder is still responsible proper operation. The original license holder must modify their license to include all the units in use. A letter of authorization only applies to mobile/portable units operating within the area of operation of the original license. A letter of authorization does not apply to base stations or repeaters unless their locations are identified on the original license.

Read the second paragraph of the link provided by nd5y, the licensee of the freq can lease it to anyone he wants. That is why you would not find an agency licensed to the frequency.

The only active license in FCC DB is to a paging company in Jeff City for this frequency in Mo.

And with your help I see this block is licensed to Smith Radio in Fayetteville, AR. They do a lot of creative use of LMR type freqs leased to public safety users in the Fayetville/Bentonville AR area in the UHF bands. One reason not to use the "service search" alone!
