Hey all, I've been a lot of LEO talk on 154.160 sounds like TCSO. Talk all throughout the day about various LEO things. Pretty active freq. Scanner at work shows this to be Verdigris Fire freq and sometimes, I do hear Verdigris Fire on that freq. I checked the RR database and don't show 154.160 on TCSO' freq list. Anyone got any ideas whats going on with this?

I acquired a TCSO programing guide from one of the radio techs who programs their lowband radios. That frequency is NOT on the list. Sinced it takes a computer and Motorloa software to program there radios I doubt
if that is them.[/i]

I think it's them. TCSO designators. Talk about stuff TCSO related and mention of business and people that are involved with TCSO. You should listen to it, then tell me what you think in a couple of days.

I think that is the state EMS net. I did a quick search and it came back to
several fire depts. Rolling Hills. Verdigris, and a 3rd in the Tulsa area. If I was guessing without listening I would say more like Rogers co. While I dont have all my frq lists with me ( I am at a part time) I thought it might be Tulsa County Parks old vhf freq. I called a deputy I know who is on Duty and he said that they did not use anything other than 155,0700. I do know from the programming info their were no fire dept freqs.

Did you ever get your radio programmed. The name of th ecompany I referred you to is H & S computers. This is a part time job for him. He works full time for a MAJOR company taking care of their radio system nation wide.

I have 154.16 listed as Limestone fire dept. east of Owasso. Could it be Owasso PD? I will start listening to it.

It's also Stillwater Fire's main repeater freq, PL 103.5. Decent power, but I doubt it would make it to Tulsa. The state VHF EMS freq. is 155.235 MHz. State Fire is 154.130 MHz.

The only user on 154.16 that I can hear from East Tulsa is Verdigris-FD and they use a PL tone of 131.8 TwoBravo, do you have a scanner that can pick up PL and DCS or DPL tones? If you could tell us what tone might be used if any, that would help out a lot! Let us know if you hear anything again and I'll monitor without the PL tone of 131.8 and listen to see if I can hear what you might be hearing.

I don't have a scanner. I should get one one of these days. I am picking this up on my walkie and also a scanner that's at work was picking it up on 154.160. Maybe some of you guys that listen a lot can keep and ear out for what's going on. There is no PL, or DCS tone selected on the output. Hope that helps.

We asked our radio vendor to Remove 154.1600 from our listed frequences, but it did happen. Will try again when we renew.

I have Verdigris Fire program in my scanner and hand held. But I have not heard any TCSO traffic on it.

Could it be someone with a link to the State/Tulsa TRS? Catoosa switched recently and they might have a link to Verdigris FD.

Perhaps Verdigris FD is switching over to the trunked system and someone has the patch set to the TCSO talkgroup. :?

Or maybe not

Tulsa county hardly ever uses call signs on vhf. You know Creek Co. also has edward units.

Right, I thought of that too. However, the use of call signs was not frequent and all of the locations mentioned were in unicorporated areas of Tulsa county. Names were mentioned every now and then, mostly stuff like "Do you know where Joe went to?" Or when talking about a suspect they'll say something like "Is ol' Jon Doe still living over there by the nudie bar?" Is there a Capt. Bass that works for TCSO? I think I heard that name. Can't be sure. It was late the other night. Maybe these clues will help solve the mystery.

Verdigris has no plans to switch to the Tulsa TRS system. The repeater that is in place was put into service last year and it has been great. As far as traffic on the 154.160 freq. Rolling Hills fire is also uses that freq with no pl tone and simplex only. I know that Stillwater fire is also on that freq but I have not heard anyother traffic on that freq besides some town in Missori. Is there a specific time or location that other traffic is heard?

I Spoke with a friend tonight who works Edward squad for Tulsa co. He said yes TCSO does have a capt bass. But he said most of the deputies
on evening shift dont have vhf radios. He said two edward units. a mary unit and a henry unit are all that have vhf radios.

I also asked him about the parks depts channel (156.240) and he said that they never use it. COuld it be some sort of skip from the 155.070?
You got me.

TB,
I have monitored that frequency since you have reported the TCSO activity and I have not heard anything here in East Tulsa. I even go over to it when they use 155.07 and listen once again nothing..
