Just caught the tail end what I believe was a Streamwood FD/NWCD call out on 154.205. Didn't catch the PL.

It was the same Locution dispatch voice and details as one might hear from NWCD SC21 system, but I wasn't listening to that system when I heard this call so I couldn't say if it was exactly the same (like DuComm).

I'll post more details if/when I catch it again.

Edited to add: just heard a Hoffman Estates call on SC21 and it did not come across 154.205.

FCC ULS doesn't show any telltale changes. It's really slow today (even slower than normal, ha).

154.235 ULS shows "Palatine" as a new user, with NWCD as the contact. Fairly recently added at the very end of last year. Arlington Heights has a license (also with NWCD as a contact) as well but it's nearly expired.

Are you new to the area? These frequencies have all been identified and are posted under Consolidated Dispatch Centers/NWCD section of the database.

For a while, 154.205 was used by the Elk Grove Township Fire Protection District. But, after they ceased operations, NWCD is using it (and 154.235) for back-up Fire Dispatch. Historically, from what I understand (others could probably speak better on this than me), NWCD used those freqs as primary channels before they went to trunking.

Yes, 154.235 and 154.205 were quite busy simplex frequencies with NWCD before SC21.

Before trunking and even before NWCD did fire dispatch, 154.205 was used by Buffalo Grove (dispatched by Arlington), Arlington Hts, Mt. Prospect, Elk Grove Village, Rolling Meadows and somewhat later Elk Grove Township. 154.235 was used by Schaumburg, Palatine and Hoffman Estates FD's.

Eventually Schaumburg moved fire ops to their city trunking system and NWCD handled dispatch for many of these towns and moved some around a bit to spread the load. They were retained as backups after fire ops moved to the original NWCD trunking system. Elk Grove Twp FPD did not join NWCD so remained on that, eventually they were dispatched by Bloomingdale but stayed on 154.205 until they closed up shop.
