Hello so I recently put my old 75xlt on my outdoor antenna and put the new Kencom fire Frq in there just to see if it could be NFM but I am picking out what sounds like a PD Dispatch and I looked at the database and the only thing i found was an old sheriff dispatch in Greene County IL, The radios sound like KaneCom they make the click off sound if you know what im talking about, 1100 was what they where using for unit Designation, Thanks in advance

Possible that this is a selectivity issue with the 75xlt and you're hearing adjacent channel traffic from 154.400 or 154.415?

Do you have a PL capable scanner available to see if a PL is being decoded? That might give a clue as to whom it may be.

Did a quick FCC ULS search for the range 154.400-154.415 and turns out most FDs in Will, Grundy, Cook, DuPage counties are licensed for a frequency in the range I entered. But no departments in those counties use the 1100s as identifiers.

or 154.4075 and 154.3925 for Adj frequencies +/-
Hi Bill,
Original freq in question was 154.4075, which is between 154.400 and 154.415. See that he's hearing what appears to be PD traffic, it may very well be originating on 154.4075 since the other two freqs are traditionally fire freqs.

Not aware of any agencies on DU-COMM Fire East (154.415, 192.8 PL) using 1100-series unit numbers, Ron.

There wouldnt be a way for the OP to recive this as they are in Northern Illinois and both of them are in Southern IL.

That's not true. I receive Danville, IL in Hartford City, IN almost every day. I've received Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin FD several times as well; and if you read the post, they're on an outdoor antenna as well.
