154.5400 MHz (PL 123.0 Hz) and 155.1150 MHz (PL 192.8 Hz)

Two seperate frequency questions.

First, last night I was hearing two people on 154.5400 MHz (PL 123.0 Hz) talking. It was weak and I couldn't understand them. Now, I've been hearing open mics and someone talking on that same frequency and PL. It's someone using a mobile, I can tell from the static. Anyone know who it is?

Second, this morning I heard a extremely weak transmission on 155.1150 MHz (PL 192.8 Hz) and someone near me reply "No, I'm in Toms River" and than something like "I'd like to have those reports when I come back". Anyone know who it is?

A quick check of the FCC database (you probably thought of that too) tells me you could be hearing just about any business on 154.54 within a few miles or less, it's an HT sort of deal. Your local McDonald's maybe? Could be a bicycle drive by and a few patient camp outs along the way when you have nothing better to do will turn it up after you wade through the database and come up with a list of suspects. Yup, make a game of it, play detective, the stakeouts are boring so stick an iPod in the other ear.

155.115 is a local government frequency, you could be hearing anything from Hudson County to Hardystone but at least you have fewer to choose from. The PL says next to nothing to most of us so unless someone familiar can pin this down just keep listening and you'll figure it out.

In reference to Hardyston Township ( Sussex County ). 155.115 is the input to 158.82R. The PL is 131.8. EMS Dispatch / Ops and the DPW.

This is a reason to miss Gene Hughes' POLICE CALL. I used it to cross-reference whatever I heard in the manner you describe. Is POLICE CALL still available under another editor? I haven't been in the "SHACK" in some time. If POLICE CALL is no longer available, is there another source for cross-referencing freqs?
