154.695 very active in Fauquier

Over the past several weeks ive noticed a awful alot of activity on VSP 154.695 in northern Fauquier county. Seems to be alot of drug take downs and some other issues. Anyone no anymore?

Sounds like ordinary stuff to hear on that particular channel (SURVEILLANCE). You'll find the CCI task Force folks using it rather than TAC during their operations.

Almost forgot,
Many times, it isn't VSP exclusively using this particular channel, In the greater Richmond area, many many local agencies have this freq in their investigators' radios.

Just wondering what CCI stands for. Also, are these troopers permanently assigned to the task force or pulled in from other areas?

CCI used to be called SOD, and before that they were called SABRE, and is a permanent assignment. As for what CCI stands for, I believe it is Counter-terroism and Criminal Interdiction, though I confess I never paid that much attention tothat acronym. They are first-responders for suspected terrorist incidents and routinely work on drug interdiction.
Other task-force initiatives involve pulling units from other areas, such as the much publicized "Weed and Seed" operations in Richmond\Petersburg.
