154.950 Unknown

154.950 is listed as an East Lyme PD tac (RR database gives no listed tone)

Today, I heard it come up with NAC:117, loud and clear with a 2-3 bar strength signal in New London. Anybody know who this could have been?

It did sound like non-emergency PD activity.

A while back EL Public Works had considered using dormant ELPD frequencies. Could this have been what you heard? I'll plug the frequencies in later and see what pops up here in Niantic.

My bet is on NH. Their digital dispatches can be heard clearly all but to the CT boarder. I'm using a small Laird triple band mobile antenna. It was probably a good atmospheric skip

That's a negative. He reported hearing the transmission using NAC117. That NAC is only licenced to the station I posted. Chances of someone using the same NAC in the same receive receive range are 0.
That is why it is important to get the CTCSS or NAC when you are DX'ing.
