What in the world is up with this frequency? If you look at the licenses there is a mix of bus companies, schools, and then there is the WSP. :?:  :?:

I have heard activity near Green Bay while mobile so I think I picked up Lamers Bus Lines. But I've left it on my scanner because WSP in Fond Du Lac are licensed on this frequency also.

Anyone have any idea what the WSP use it for? If at all?

Depends where you are.. I believe the frequency is liscensed to the STATE and not the State Patrol in particular. The state liscences many frequencies for interop purposes with other agencies. I think some frequencies are used for temporary repeaters and so forth.

Common freq's used by buses, ambulances, hospitals:
155.160
155.175
155.205
155.220
155.235
155.265
155.280
155.295

It does say "State", but the address says "Attn. State Patrol Communications" and the control point is listed as "Wi State Patrol Dist 3 HQ":

http://wireless2.fcc.gov/UlsApp/UlsSearch/license.jsp?licKey=1279753

It still could be a state government license and not a WSP frequency, I suppose. If it isn't WSP then who is it? Not the state DOT. They had 400MHz radios and supposedly are going to cell phones.

To add more confusion the license does show that it can be temporary fixed, but it does also list Fond Du Lac as a fixed site.

It says WSP Communications because all the state's freq licensing is handled by one WSP guy. It doesn't mean WSP is using it.

As for who is using it, your guess is as good as mine.

Do you know what agencies would use the headquarters there in Fond Du Lac, or is the control point listed as Fond Du Lac because that guy is there?

I really need to get my base antenna up so I can be sure I'm not missing anything on that frequency. I haven't heard anything on it since...
