155.280 Ulster and Dutchess area

For a few years now I have heard a School Bus Company on 155.280. Does any one know which company it is or even if it might be a School District. I did a FCC search and haven't found anything for this area for any School Districts or School Bus Companies. Most of the time I just hear the base every once in a while I will hear one of the buses.

Hmm I don't remember see a license for them. I will double check when I get home.

If someone can confirm that it is definitely Carroll Transportation in Orange County they're hearing, can confirm a PL/DPL on the frequency, and they submit the info to the database...sure.

I'm picking up what sounds like school bus activity with a 107.2 PL. Is that the same PL you're getting, Scott?

I haven't noticed a PL yet I want looking at my scanner when I was hearing the activity. Monday I will give a listen and you know what PL I'm seeing

Isn't 155.280 an EMS Talk-around frequency? How is a commercial agency allowed on a public safety frequency PL or no PL

Because back in the day when the FCC had actual frequency allocations (like Fire, Police, Business, Special Industrial, etc.) 155.280 was classified as a special emergency frequency. Several entities qualified for special emergency frequencies including school buses. Veterinarians, too. The theory was that the radios would only be used in an 'emergency' capacity, not quite like they are actually used.
