I live in Yakima County. This is the Hospital Emergency Ambulance Radio frequency for the entire county. There has been some kind of repeater malfunction here for the last three days on this channel. Anyone else in this area hearing this??? It is rapid clicking off and on and off and on but never gone. I have it at 20 over 9 here in my shack.
It really baffles me how this could go on for so long. In fact, the signal is so strong that it mixes with the other powerful county radio services causing splatter all over the VHF bands.
I wonder what the Ambulance drivers are doing for coms now nextel?????
If anyone has any ideas on letting someone know about this it would be great.

Exactly. Do you think they'll bite you? They will likely say yes or no.
But, chances are they use PL, so they may not know it.

The radio shop might be a better bet. In fact, they might be grateful someone brought it to their attention.

All of the bigger city agencies have radio shops.

most of the time you wont hear anything on that freq because most work at the shop is done on low power or dummy loads. you will hear radio checks from time to time or a tech out in the field, like at a fire station working on the tapp out system.

Most of the work that is done by the tech's is done at the shop. that way everything they need is right there.

As for the RF noise on the HEAR freq, Have you check around to see if this is a city wide problem or is this a local problem in you NB caused by another radio operator or maybe even something in your own house? I only ask because I have had little gremlins creep in to my shack due to stupid things like swaping out a light switch im my master bedroom for a remote controled on/off dimmer.
