On a drive down to Gloucester this past Sunday, I caught 155.3400 [ 82.5] in use while passing through Tappahannock. Both the ambulance and the hospital were coming in strong. The callsign given at the end of the transmission sounded like WXP396, but that doesn't come back as either active or expired in the FCC database. Can anyone confirm that this is Riverside Tappahannock?

Thanks,
Dave

Yep, 82.5 is used by Riverside Tapp. There is inconsistency among hospitals though sometimes....Some hospitals in Richmond don't encode a PL tone, but all are setup to decode a particular tone, along with a pulsed/DTMF sequence.

It's interesting that the hospital encodes a tone in this case.

We used to test the UVa hospital system by dialing up MCV in Richmond. I doubt anybody still has those old dialers, I know they don't around here anyway.
