I have a problem with 155.5200 which is my local PD. In my entire house I pick up some kind of interference. No matter where I put my BC145 I still pick it up. Is there any way I can block it out? I am using the teloscopic that hooks up through the back. Any ideas will be greatly appreciated.

Take the antenna off. If you still get the signal, with no change no matter where you go, it's a birdie. If not, see if it gets very strong right near your router or modem.

I had the same problem with my BC250D. I kept getting this pulsating buzz on alot of frequencies. I first went to the basement and killed the main disconnect, to pin point that it was coming from in the house. After searching high and low I could not find the source. I tried everything I could think of that was electronic, no luck. One day I was trying to run a lamp cord behind our bed an heard a faint buzz, buzz, buzz. It turned out to be the electric blanket my wife used on our bed in the winter, I unpluged it and pulsating was gone. At that time I noticed a FCC statement on the bottom of the control unit. Everything has been great................except winter is coming and so will that PITA blanket.

Do you have any "touch Lamps"? You know, the kind you touch the metal to turn it on?

They create problems like this.

Just read the next thread ( identifing noise sources ) and the electric blanket is all over the site................sure could of used it last winter and saved my sanity.

I looked at that site you're talkin about and we have an electric heater for our daughter. I unplugged it and still get the noise. I have a table lamp sittin next to the radio, it's a three way wattage, so I did that and still no luck. Then I tried the cable box and guess what, still no luck. It didn't have this before, I honestly don't know what the heck could be doing it. I get it on the other scanners as well. Hmmm...

Good news. My AT&T 5.8GHz phone was the cause of the problem. It was the handset, not the base. Thanks for the help guys.
