Does anyone know how the frequency 155.910 is being used? It appears to be issued to nearly every county and I have occasionally heard what sounds like digital traffic there, but only very briefly. The signal stalker function will sometimes hit on 155.920 also, but I'm assuming that's just an overload.

Here in Tama county its the mobile freq. for "INFO". The base is on 155.310.
So when i hear dispatch say switch to info, you have to monitor both freqs.

No Clue on the 155.910 MHz. Isnt in my Scanners here in Muscatine. It might be used in Muscatine or Louisa Counties. Checking the R.R. Database and...

155.910 MHz is the Input for Muscatine County Sheriff-Information Channel, Output is 155.310 MHz.

What Scanner Model are you using???

The FCC ULS data base shows 84 agencies use that freq in Iowa. I believe all listed use it as there Information channel.

155.910 is the car side of the "information" channel. Many years ago, all Sheriffs' Offices in Iowa had an "information" channel and an "operations" channel. "Operations" or "OPS" was a simplex channel. Some of them included 155.190, 155.010, 154.830 . . .

The "information" or "INFO" frequencies were half-duplex. That is to say you needed to monitor the base on one frequency and the cars on the other to get complete conversations. Some of the INFO base frequencies were 155.610, 155.310, 155.535 . . .

HOWEVER, the CAR side of INFO was ALWAYS 155.910, no matter what frequency the BASE side used.

Clear as mud? Let me know if you need clarification . . .

That's interesting to know! I think Tama County here is behind the times as we STILL use Info and OPS for regular traffic.
