Lewis county uses 156.030 Mhz as the input to their 155.190Mhz repeater, also as a secondary car to car frequency using a different PL tone, so i left 156.030Mhz in my scanner as CSQ. driving through Alder Creek on my way home from work, i was hearing a repeater output of 156.030Mhz with a PL tone of 85.4. The conversation was between a unit and dispatch about running a 28 (license check). I looked through the database of the surrounding counties and found nothing. the signal was coming in 1 by 1 and my scanner barely picked up the PL. Any suggestions?

It's only 90 miles between Alder Creek and Houck Mtn, both locations at pretty good elevations. With good conditions, 90 miles isn't too difficult for VHF to travel.
