156.090, 156.050 - Linn County Sheriff Repeater?

Recently I was doing a service search and I came across 156.090 and noticed that it was giving the exact same transmissions as the LCSO Knox Butte frequency (151.130), just slightly delayed and at seemingly higher quality. I live relatively close to the Sheriff's Office so after travelling a bit further in town I compared the two frequencies again and for the most part they stayed the same but at some points I would pick up conversations on 156.090 when 151.130 would be silent but it was definitely the same users talking.

So for a few days after that I just assumed it had something to do with a repeater, even though it's listed as BM on the database. But another thing that threw me off is if it's a repeater input, why would it be behind the main frequency and why would 151.130 listed as a BM? I also do not currently have a radio reference subscription to confirm if 151.130 even has an input in the database.

However recently I discovered yet another frequency transmitting 151.130's transmissions slightly behind. It's 156.050. I put all three frequencies in their own bank (151.130, 156.050, 156.090) and they all are giving the same transmissions just at slightly different times and sometimes I can pick up more on the 156 frequencies than I do on the listed 151 frequency.

So what's going on here? Is this even a repeater or is it something else? Am I misunderstanding how repeaters work? Please let me know and thank you to any replies towards this.

Something I found out after getting a new scanner is that the 156.090 frequency not only transmits Linn County Sheriff Dispatch but also Benton County Law Dispatch. Unsure how this is utilized but to me it seems like it's for some sort of patch, like other posts have stated.

Linn County reworked everything and the 700/800 system is the backbone with the links going to Scott and then, Scott, Halls Ridge, Hoodoo, Cougar, having a vhf frequency for each with the delay in the patch with it only covering the main dispatch. If you want the secondary trunked talk groups you need to listen on 700 not sure where the VHF secondary Linn 911 freq is patched to. Think a chase or 2 ago heard them talking about a talk group with LCSO OSP Albany and other on a common talk group.

I just recently got my first digital so I have been discovering a lot of these things along the way. I appreciate the info.

On the topic of secondary channels, not too long ago (during a barricaded suspect standoff) I think I heard Lebanon PD talk about going onto a secondary channel and it did not seem to be the same as what the "LPD Secondary" listed on the database is, as I had that programmed and didn't hear their traffic on that.

I heard from an LPD lieutenant recently that they are looking into getting digital radios. Couldn't give any exact time frame or info just that they have been looking into it and the main issue for them currently is cost. He also said it could be likely that they'd be going on the SW 7 County system.

Apologies if this post got a bit off the thread topic.

Everyone else in the county is VHF or on the 700 system so spending money on new UHF does not allow much interoperability. Lebanon does have another UHF simplex and at one time they thought it to be private........you know how that turns out. At one time thought they had a JPS ACU bridge.

Again, all those freqs are input freqs. i can confirm 2.

The 700 mhz system Benton and Linn county use, is open to other agencies, to switch over to, but its not cheap, getting the radio's, unless they budget for them or get a grant, and its unknown what the monthly free is, to be on the system.
