Was doing a search through the railroad search setting on my PSR 500, and got a long lasting hit (roughly 3 minutes, off and on) on 159.8400 this evening. Not sure what it was, or even why it came up inside the RR setting due to it not being listed as an AAR channel.
Tried a geosearch from the FCC License Search for the frequency, and all that came up was a company out of Scottsbluff, NE which had blocks of frequencies, but none including that particular frequency (for the record, I also re-ran the search with both continental and nationwide license areas enabled, with the same result).
Was wondering if any of the regulars around here might shed some light on it. I kicked on the scanner recorder and saved about a minute and change of it, and it sounds like two guys just having a general conversation.
Recorded audio. The download link on the left hand side will launch a window to one of their sponsors, but it's nothing malicious (at least not that Ad-Aware has ever found when I've used Media Fire).
I didn't get another hit this evening on that frequency.
Anyone have any ideas?
