15x- odd failure

So my 5 month old 15x went south, kinda. All the VHF high band stuff stopped working, VHF low worked fine. Did a wipe and reloaded w/ACR XT Pro- load went fine...still no VHF high- all look good when reviewing the setup/channel- simply does not receive anything in the 150-155 area (dunno about UHF, I didn't test for that). Call to Scanner Master (where I bought) got a referral to Uniden, who ran me through two minutes of diagnostic things- then said no problem, send it in. All good, turnaround from Uniden they said is 3 weeks- hopefully its not quite that bad and they are just "under-promising". I'll come back and post what they find.

It ill be a month before you see it again. Uniden uses Smartpost from FedEx that ships the radio to the nearest big city and drops the package in the US mail. My two returns shipping took ten business days from leaving the Uniden repair shop to arriving by US mail. I think it came to about 35 buiness days to get both radios back.

Not bad- back in three weeks! They replaced "IC21" under warranty, I woulda bet it was IC22 or IC20, but what do I know...
