Just close-called this frequency on my scanner and it sounded like DPW or salt spreader crews. I missed the PL, but it was in the 130s (either 131.8 or 136.5).

Yes, I know NJT is licensed to this frequency for their signal department, but as far as I know, that is CSQ only. Also, I do not believe I am close enough to the rail tracks to close-call them.

My guess...either an unlicensed channel for the RP DPW or seasonal snow removal/salt contractors. If anyone wants to chime in, feel free.

It's NJTransit C&S and B&B. You were hearing crews clearing the parking lots. And yes, with a PL.

Ok thanks, makes somewhat sense. I am a half mile from the nearest train station, so it is surprising I close-called from so far away.

Just FI PL's are definitely on TX ONLY and I have proof. one time there was a crew working on the Pascack Valley Line and there were two crews talking to EACH OTHER using different PLs. Hearing something on that frequency is pretty great, hearing different PLs is amazing. That's wh I ALWAYS leave frequencies on PL SEARCH

Yeah, I plan to keep the frequency programmed in both my Rail fav list and Local fav list from now on. But, should it really be listed as "signal dept" in the DB or should it be listed as "public works" instead?

Well let me put it this way in NJ Transit there is an official department called "SIGNALS" and no department that I know of for plowing
