on a recent visit to the Southwest (Lisle/Bolingbrook) area of Chicago, I ran across this gem that previously had been reported in Los Angeles

Anyone with Trunker or other software able to sit on this and see if there is any activity, alternate CC's, voice channels etc

Must be a VHF opening today. That system is located at Motorola HQ in Schaumburg. I used to get close call hits on it when I used drive past it on 90 west everyday. I've never seen it active though. I believe it is what they test their latest tech on.

Thanks, this was last month and band was so so, but what a signal it put out if it is Schaumburg

The RRDB Admin's retired the Los Angeles connection and made it Chicago area, odd no one had ever made an IL submission

I havent ever seen traffic on it it's probably all LTE by now the system has been up and running for years .

The freq shown on this system is 161.925, but the freq in the title of this thread is 161.975.

as the OP, my monitoring was 161.9250 a typo on my (good catch Kevin) part
reported for a Moderator to edit the subject line

Motorola has these funky test systems setup in Elgin / Chicago area from time to time. I believe they are used for R&D and demonstration purposes, there are no actual regular users on them.
