162.450 Southard Off Air

Not good. NOAA was pushing SAME alerting on Southard from the NYC office recently as well as Mt.Holly. It was working pretty well as of late. Perhaps KWO35 162.550 will come on line sooner.

Is there also another site that’s been offline for a while? I live right in a coverage gap in NW Middlesex county and cannot hear any of the WX stations and haven’t been able to for some time

I moved the feed to the NW Jersey transmitter, that's correct KWO-35 should be back in the fall of 2019 that's what the NWS Upton is telling me.
I am the feed provider for the NWR in New York City.

With the 162.550 transmitter off the air, tuning there can yield some surprises during band openings. Caught KHB47 in New London CT a 125 mile hop this AM.

KDIX IS BACK IN SERVICE.

I think that is for the Radar, not the Weather Radio - KDIX is the ID for the Mount Holly Radar located at Fort Dix, NJ.

They should have some type of phone app or online feed that can stream online as a backup to over the air broadcasting.
