Today I installed my new antenna (temporary in the attic, to cold outside :s ) and with the improved reception I noticed that I was receiving some EMS and I am assuming MTO on 163.320. This Freq is my FD repeater RX freq. I switched to the TX freq and this cleared up the unwanted traffic.

I am aware that EMS and MTO are part of a trunked system but I looked in the data bases and they don't list this frequency as being used for this. What am I missing?

Sounds to me, like you are picking up an image frequency
163.320 - 21.4 = 141.920

Check 141.920 and see if you hear the same thing

I believe that frequency would fall into one of the voice channels allocated to a Bell Radio Tower for fleetnet
in your area.

What type of receiver are you using? It strikes me as an older/cheaper dual-conversion
scanner, which are prone to images. Most have first IF of 10.695, 10.800, or 10.850MHz
which would put the images at 141.930 and 141.720MHz which are Fleetnet voice channels,
and 141.620 which is close to 141.630, another voice channel.

By the way in IC TAFL I'm seeing a bunch of pending licences for VHF pairs for Leeds
under callsigns CGT905,906,908,909; by the look of it probably P25 (BW 8.1kHz).

168.810/163.545
170.715/165.945
171.165/166.965
171.645/164.325

I also see 7 repeaters, ~100W under different callsigns. Lower frequencies are the
outputs.

I googled the call sign and it looks like Leeds and Thousand Islands FD.
2015 is supposed to be new radio time in Leeds and Grenville which leads me to a question.
Are agencies that are switching to P25 required to do this? All I've heard is that our pagers and radios are obsolete and it is becoming harder to service them.

hey i was wondering if you could add central frontenac fire to the gan live scanner 154.650
that would be great

Done..... buts that's a long way from Gan so no guarantees. I haven't got around to installing my antenna on the roof yet so one of these days the signal will magically get better :)

BTW There's another live feed in Leeds and Greenville (hosted more to the north) which hosts Central Frontenac already. I listen to it on occasion and have heard some Hwy 7 action.

Harrowsmith tower (frontenac)

141.72 which is also a frequency on harrowsmith tower (frontenac county)

This channel is also on Alfred Tower (Prescot Russell county)

...except that the PRO-2040 has a 10.8MHz first IF so it is 163.32 - 21.6 = 141.72 MHz
he must be hearing.
