I have caught some simplex traffic clear and encrypted with similar RID's matching the ATF here in Central KY. $200 is very odd though, has anyone considered ACoE or DoE?

Open to ideas / thoughts / comment.

Just a thought I had, do you have any audio recordings of it? Maybe if you capture enough of it and share it, maybe somebody can solve who it belongs to just by listening in, getting a better idea of what they talk about and when they talk about it, if the radio operators use any identifiers like "Security 9 to Station 1" or similar to state who they are and who they are talking to, anything like that.

Not likely as FLETC is on its own Trunk, with a totally different NAC
What I have heard recently doesn't match the note I had from years in the past. I'm inclined to discount it and only use what I and others have used lately to identify the user(s).

the comms are all like what was stated in the original post. I am unwilling to post actual audio clips, sorry.

S'all good, I can't blame you, wouldn't want some agency breathing down your neck for listening in and giving you more hassle than what its worth.

Well, after listening to that, I can definitely rule out FDOC. Whoever it is though, they certainly take security/paranoia to the extreme. Actually, sounds like both a security feed and also a maintenance feed with the guy telling him to use WD-40 and a lighter on the wagon tire to put it back on the rim. Its just too bad that lady at the end didn't tell the dude the fax number, that would have probably made something searchable.

I got a lot of recordings today on this freq - but they all ended around 8am or so when the band opening started to fade - so I think this repeater may not be "local" per se ---- could be Tampa or Daytona. When reviewing the recordings today, I also observed several transmissions that were encrypted P25... I have not noticed/observed that before today.

the plot thickens.

Unless I've plugged it into my SDS100 incorrectly (set the channel to P25 with a NAC of 200), I haven't heard anything on this frequency in Thonotosassa, which is slightly northeast of Tampa.

Those comms sounds very similar to Florida DOC/Prison radios. Not the exact terminology I'm accustomed to, but having a 'back gate', 'waste management', outside perimiter 'posts', and 'escorts' being verbally called out for inmates enroute from location A to location B. Usually it would be masked in 10 codes, but plain english is also used a lot.

I agree.Im in Ny but these sound similar to comms I hear from local correctional facilities

Received some traffic this morning in Okeechobee, mostly about gates and a vendor that will be working outside. I have discone antenna that is about 20’ up. No escort or medical chatter yet. I will keep monitoring.

Is this signal strong in the Tampa area? Just an FYI... NAC 200 is also a NAC used by the USAF. MacDill? Or is that too far from where everyone is hearing this? In NY, we have a base that uses NAC200, in the same band your hearing this on.

my opinion is that this isn't military. I suspect it's a us customs / DHS (etc) warehouse or federal facility somewhere.

Are you sure about MacDill ?
They were on a UHF TRS using $4A0 not VHF
and have migrated to the 380-400 AF Network using $5xx series NACS

And yes it had been rather strong in Tampa, but then again FL is so FLAT :) sometimes narrowing targets down takes a Long time.

Another mix of AES and Clear traffic. Both 166.7375 and 164.9250 appear to be linked and multi cast. Very week on .7375 on Universal Blvd & McKenna Dr. Very Strong (about -79 on my RSSI Meter) .7375 on Hotel Plaza Blvd near Disney Springs.
