This afternoon I've been hearing some interesting radio traffic on the 168.425 frequency here in Williamsburg. It's definitely P25 voice, and they were doing some radio test counts. The user of the frequency then stated that it was a Voice over IP Radio Technology and then announced his broadcast location from somewhere in Michigan. Anyone else hearing this?

Well it's definately the National Park Service. It's been confirmed as Colonial National Historic Park Ch. 2 in P25 mode. If you are able to catch a NAC, that would be great, that way the database can be updated with the NAC included. I do find it interesting that they are using VOIP on this frequency.

168.4250 mhz. is the repeater frequency for Colonial National Historic Park Maintenance. Input is 169.2250 mhz. and the NAC is 2CF. I heard them the other day doing traffic control somewhere on the parkway doing road maintenance. Sounds like they were testing a new comm toy but didn't want to use the Ranger's repeater.
