Pro96com won't log anything as this is a P25 conventional channel not a trunked system.

I'm thinking G-men or other Fed type enforcement stuff in this part of the band.

Anyone know who is using 170.625 in P25 Clear, west of Lakewood.

Thanks,
Mike

It's a Department of Justice allocation, with some use by the Border Patrol (DHS), but without more information it's going to be tough to get more specific.

I figured that it may infact be the MIB, it sounded like they were on a stakeout and were ready to take someone down. The signal was full bar's down in the Morrison area, so I suspect that it was off of Mt Morrison as it was a close-call hit that brought it to my attention.

The 996 was decoding P25, I suspect that it was conventional in operation. I didn't have the time to get out the laptop and do any further decoding.

Thanks,
-Mike

Here in Chicago, 170.625 MHz analog is used by the FBI. It is normally used for major investigative cases.

FBI don't use much P25 in Chicago, but when they do, my PSR-500 displays NAC167.
