Was curious to see if anyone knew who might be using this in the Waynesville-Ashville area. I actually live in Iowa, but just returned from a trip out to Western NC (AWESOME, part of the country by the way). I was getting quite a few conversations on this freq. it sounded like a disp. center of sorts. At one time it sounded like agents of some sort doing a check in (Knoxville TN.?). Also lots of different unit numbers from 100s-through 700s. Anyone have any ideas? My father lives very close to the Smoky Mts. I looked in the database, but did not see any info. Anyway I was mostly just curious, thanks Mike

Probably a repeater for the Great Smoky Mtns. Nat. Park systems.
They use P-25 and simplex systems.
The 100's thru 700's are probably ranger id's for rangers patrolling different districts of the park.
They have several repeaters due to the huge area they have to cover.

Just a guess though.
