I usually just get 4F9 on this freq. NPS but have been getting NAC
E02 all morning different RIDS...anybody know QTH for it?
I know it,s not BNL...cause it,s like S7 only and it,s P25 enc.
abt 4 or 5 diff. RIDS all with 551 and a control station ?

See if the RIDS match up with the other US Park Police / Ellis - Liberty Island channels
to rule out any potential for a weak/false NAC hits

the $E0# series all have (in my experience)
pointed to Dept of Energy or USSS (but only for an NSSE or Major Events)

RID are only unique within the agency itself, any agency could use 551, so we can't paint with the broad brush that all RIDs of 551 are DoI
Only once you know more can we narrow that down.

ie:
337xxxx is generally ruled as FBI NYC, but that is only with a NAC of $167 and commonly known FBI channels (some exceptions) but there could be any other FED,. State, Local or even a Private Business who decides to use 337xxxx

Anyone else in NY/NJ hearing the $E02 NAC ??

Not surprising, if it is a bad decode on one chances are you'll have issues with others.

(going down a rabbit hole) - I've never spent time delving into the pattern of the USSS RID's but of note, Boston is 50xxxxx series

I used to hear Cape Cod National Seashore on that freq with a NAC of 707. Haven't tried in a while so I don't know if they are still on there. But they were in the clear back then. I'm sure Bill @ecps92 can chime in on that one.

When I turn my beam towards center NJ or Philly, I get the best signal. I am ruling out NYC.

Hey anything is possible. But I would be hearing it much stronger than an s-3 if it was Manhattan I think. Especially seeing it is starting to fade out now because the Band opening is closing. I hear most things from Manhattan with a wet noodle , unless they happen to be using low power
