Hi I've been wanting to monitor the 185thTFG out of Sioux City Iowa. This is a Air National Guard Kc-130 air refueling unit based at Gateway airport at Bud Day Field. I'm curious if there is anyone who might know what freqs to monitor. Thanks.

FYI - the 185th switched from fighters to KC-135 tankers a few years ago. There is a fighter squadron in Des Moines, the 132nd. 138.150 Command Post, 138.200, 138.300 ,138.400, 139.700 (used a lot at Smokey Hills range plus 304.9, 309.9), 252.900 Command Post also listen in Crypt MOA 233.4, 311.4

The Sioux City guys play all over the midwest so it would also depend on where they're operating. For instance when they're refueling on the AR tracks in your area they'd be on those freqs. If they're working fighter guys in the MOAs you'll hear them on the common MOA freqs. When they're transiting the area you would most likely be hearing them on ATC freqs.

If you're in the area of the base itself then those posted would be a start along with your local ATC freqs followed by a search for the various nearby AR tracks, MOAs. That should get you started.
