I have moved this amplifier to the attic for the Austin and now (hold ones breath) it seems be be a great improvement. I cannot get to the attic where the Scantenna is currently since my ladder is on loan.
Will be back at this next week since travel is on tap for this week.
Thanks all

That sounds encouraging. I hope the better reception continues.

As of this AM I am extremely happy with the improvement. Not 100% but I do not thick that is a realistic goal. Amp in the attic, missed that on. Makes complete sense when its in front of you, thanks Fredva. Cannot wait to get back from travel to connect the amp to the scantenna, hopefully it will be even better.

You're welcome - I was just passing along what I've learned from others.

Go to ARR (Advanced Radio Research). They will build you a high quality pre-amp for a little over 100 bucks. Uses less than 25 Mili amps.
