1st time programming

This is the first time I have programmed my BCD996T myself, I'm getting things figured out o/k but for one frequency for EMS which is 149.4400 for page out. My problem is that it works to good, is there a way to get only the page 1 or 2 areas not everthing within 30 mile range.

Probably not unless they use tones as well as voice. If they use tones, you can select ones you want to hear, (you will have to find these tones by asking, or by using some software) but you will be locked on just listening to that one page freq. You will not be able to scan. Fire Tone Out - The RadioReference Wiki Might help if we knew your state and county to see if there are any other options.

Have you tried setting the attenuator on the paging frequency?

I you only wanted to hear the EMS agency of interest, then you you use the Fire Tone Out feature, or if multiple users have a different CTCSS or DCS you could use that. I also like the attenuator idea.

Thanks for the input I'll try the different ideals. Any other thoughts I'll try them also.
