While it may not sound like a 'critical' incident, brush fires in the desert river bottoms can be very dangerous. Salt cedar trees and large brush line the rivers and can spread quickly. Homeless people and others inhabit these areas and are victims of fast moving fires. Houses are often nearby and have significant exposure.
