855.2125 Mhz is one of 7 assigned frequencies WPDB840. For some reason, there are some additional freq showing on this database that are not in the system.
Lagrange control channels are 860.9875, 860.2625, 858.9625, or 858.2625. Most of the trunked traffic appears on one of these four. 857.7375 and 856.2625 are primarily I-Call while 855.2125 is a frequency of last resort. If everything else is used, 855.2125 will be used. Typically 855.2125 is used for the morse code - station I.D.
Tonight, I'm getting a very strong control channel on 855.2125. My scanner locked onto it. After not hearing any traffic, I locked it out, "grabbed" the normal control channel and all is OK.
Bibb Co and Albany (both Georgia) are the only other systems in this area that use 855.2125. I'm 90+ miles from Bibb and 120+ from Albany.
What could this be????
Thanks,
Julian
