2 PL Tones

Hi. I was wondering, if a city were to use 155.175Mhz 107.2 for dispatch and uses that same frequency but a PL of 67.7 for car to car and both users keyed up, would there be interference to the dispatcher?

Yes there will be interference, once the squelch is open on the receiving radio the second key up is like any other PL or not.

Usually when they are doing that, they are not using PL for receive, only for transmit. That way, they all know when others are talking, the only difference being whether or not they go through the repeater.

But yes, simultaneous transmissions will result in ungodly noise, and somebody not getting heard.
