2 PSR800 questions

Halfpint is correct on the size. But remember that the audio output of the 800 is meant to drive a headset/earplugs, it does NOT have enough output to drive a speaker. If you want to use a remote speaker then you will need an amplified speaker of some sort.

for walking around town i was thinking of the speaker mic / as well but for being in the back yard, i baught a portable radio with aux input jack to plug in the scanner more than enough volume control and runs on batteries to,

At this point, anything is probably better than having the radio in my back pocket. I have the volume cranked to 30 and it is still hard to hear when there is traffic outside around me. Thanks, I will see what the shack has if anything.

I clip the scanner on my belt and use standard stero headphones (like for the old walkman) and it is full volume and shoulds great. I clip the scanner on by belt in the back and run the wire up my back so it is out of the way when I go for a walk. I also bought a rechargable bluetooth transmitter that plug into the headphone jack and a set of BT stero headphones and I can go without wires. With the BT I can even set the scanner on the table and walk around the entire house and listen without even having the have the scanner on me.
