You're also in luck if your computer system has audio ports in back and in front. Mine does and I have one scanner using the line in feed in the back to for fire, and the other scanner plugged into the line in feed up front, which gives me police.

Using two mono cables from each scanner to each port I can then split fire to the right channel and police to the left channel. While I don't provide a feed I would hazard a guess that this same set up would work for a feed provider. The key is using mono cables so you can separate the channels.

Hope this helps you out some. Good luck!

You can also use usb soundcards. I use 2 along with the built in card to provide 3 feeds. I use the Turtle Beach usb soundcards. About $40 a pop. Works great for me.

Thanks for the help. I tried a soundcard in a pci slot but that disabled the sound on the motherboard... so I was back to just one input. I installed a second soundcard in another pci card slot... and that worked. I was able to select a different soundcard for each stream. I'll be testing for a few days and then hope to put everything back together. Thanks again. :)

(and again I blow the linux horn)..

I have one box with 5 sound cards in it (all have been given to me for free or scavenged from old machines)..

No troubles addressing each one individually in linux =) /dev/audiox..

Its called a Stereo feed, pretty simple actually. The Scan Feed admins can tell you how to confinger your software, but if you buy a cheap ole mono to Stereo Y adapter at radio shack for 5 bucks, you can have dual scan feeds through your single mic input. There are a few here doing this, Me included. However for some reason my left side is giving me trouble this weekend.

Just for grins... I added a 3rd soundcard. It works! I can do 3 streams from one computer. I'm running two Oddcast programs as provided from RR. For the 3rd stream... I'm using ScannerCast so I can stream talkgroups. Kind of neat seeing the talkgroups you are listening to. Just testing that today. Works well with Winamp, iTunes and Real Player. The tags don't show up in Windows Media Player. Thanks for all the help. It lead me down the correct path... :)

I also have two sound cards for two feeds. The exception is one of them is "part-time" only when Skywarn is active. The other is a "full-time" stream. I didn't want to have 2 full-time feeds running fearing my ISP would send me a nasty letter. I am curious, in reading this thread, as to how much a person can upload and if anyone has had a problem with their ISP uploading 2 or more streams. Is there usually a limit, or does it vary by ISP. I would love to stream 2 or more full-time feeds.

Using Comcast on this end. I've had 2 streams going for over 5 years. I run a third sometimes. No nasty letter yet. But I'm going to go find some wood to knock on just in case...

Stormscanner... PS: I just noticed you're in Matthews, NC. My son lives in Stallings, NC on Afternoon Sun Road.
