2000 kHz USB New York Radio 1117 UTC 3/5/2013

New York Radio (volmet), first time I've heard them on this frequency: 2000 kHz USB at 1117 UTC this morning. Off at 1119 UTC.

Hmm...somethin' strange there - 2000kHz is not even in the Aero band, and not allocated to NY Volmet. The lowest freq I see is 6604 with broadcasts at 00 and 30.

It's real. I came across it tonight, while leaving the 160-meter band. It surprised me. Signal was real strong here, coming in much better than 3485 kilohertz.

Yes, the 160m boys didn't seem too happy about this when I was listening in on 1997 kHz LSB an hour or two ago.

They are on 2000 right now, 2301Z 6MAR13. Also on 3485, 6604, 10051, and 13270.

Hmmmm. Wonder if they know it?

I also heard them at 0035Z on 3/5. I was surprised, too!

0600z good audio on 6604 but nuttin on 2000 - except a very weak carrier.
