This is an install I did on my wife's previous car, a 2001 Buick Regal Install. The radio is a Kenwood G707 dual band mobile. I installed the radio under the front passenger's seat. The remote head was installed in a "map compartment." I removed the cigarette lighter and ashtray and cut a hole to recess the remote head so my wife could put the mic in the compartment and close the door. Please pardon the crumbs/dirt. My son who was 2 at the time managed to make the nice mess on the console before I took the pictures. This was one of my favorite installs, but we sold the car to get mini van.

Nice to have those little cubbies, huh?

Looks good.

Post pics of the van when you get to it.

Go ahead and get your antenna pics up too.

That is awesome. I really like how it is truly covert. I wish I was fortunate enough to have something discreetly cover my gear.

Sure, blame your messiness on the 2 year old :D

Seriously though; it looks good.

I've got a similar cubbyhole in my car just begging for a remote head install. Maybe after tax-time.

If a fella was handy enough with that sort of thing, it looks like there is plenty of room for at least two radios, maybe three, to be mounted under the car radio, as long as you were willin to do some good old fashioned modificationizing. :D

I never took antenna pictures. It was simple 2M/70cm Larson antenna on an L-bracket off of the trunk.

Not much to see in the van. I just mounted the radio on a $20 plastic center console. I'm finishing up my Escape project and will post pictures when its completed. The Escape project is also not a remote head install and is an actual open radio rack. Thanks for the comments.
