Your console is a credit to you Sir!

I particularly like the material you have used to dress it with- great color!

Makes me wish column shift vehicles were more available here.

Regards, Commscanaus.

Wow, that's a lot of radios & antennas! Nicley done! I'm sure I'm not the only one that would appreciate a run-down of what you have each radio monitoring and also a closer picture of the antenna farm ;-). Also, any speaker set-up would be good to know as well.

P.S. I'm a bit surprised about the BC350's. I had one for years myself, but the limited programming ability made it less than user friendly.

It does look a little bizarre. The center console is tweaked off to the left, and the whole thing just kinda looks filthy. It seems to me that the suede would absorb an awful lot of ambient moisture, too.

First of all, Thanks for the compliments

Here is my run down:
1. BC350c - OPP Repeaters (All)
2. BC350c - Ambuance Base Pagers, OPP Media Channels
3. BC350c - Various Roads Departments, School Busses
4. BCT 8 - Ambulance - Dufferin, Peel, York, Simcoe
5. BCT 8 - Peel Police 21 / 22 Division
6. BCT 8 - Caledon / Brampton Fire, Peel Roads Department
7. BCT 15 - Peel Ambulance, Orangeville Misc
8. BCD996T - Caledon OPP, Dufferin OPP, MTO Inspectors

I also run 4 Portables as well until the "Under Rear Seat Console" is complete.

New Additions to come:
GRE Units
PSR 600 - CALEDON OPP ONLY
PSR 600 - DUFFERIN OPP ONLY
PSR 600 - PORT CREDIT OPP ONLY
PSR 600 - MTO ONLY

The rear of the truck should be complete by summer. We are currently working on a full suede conversion. We are basically starting on the front, and working our way back.

STAGE 1 COMPLETE - More pics to follow soon......

It actually is attached like that due to the mold of the original piece in front. It was built around factory mold.

As for the material. It actually handles the weather good, as it does not see it. It is inside my truck... LOL J/K. For night time moisture, it actually handles it fine, I used the same suede in my other project.

The close up photo(s) of the switch panels were blown up, I actually took them from the rear seat and zoomed into the switches. It actually is very thin material, it looks "Dumb and Dummer Shag" but it actually is nowhere near it. I can see how youcould mistake suede for shag though...... LOL

Thanks Guys for your commoents and poll votes.

Very nice! It looks like someone likes Unidens a bit! lol.

I am building under the rear seat too. There you will see BCT15 and 996 moved under the seat, as well as a Motorola Astro, Motorola Maxtrac. This should be complete soon. We are currently waiting for the Fiberglass Dash to be complete, as well as my remote heads for unidens. Then the move and new back will be inserted in the truck.

I plan on putting a PSR 600 as well as a PSR 400 in the uniden slots.

You forgot to add "Looks like crap" in the pole ;)

The console doesn't look so bad but that switch panel looks horrible.

Maine scanning the band!
Just wondering why you have not added the CB to the top of the console? Other than that, the color combination looks unique and is a change from black.

The CB Radio is actually being moved to the roof console when we get to that point of install. The front section is going to be for my portables. We are building a plate for that probally this week.

As for colour, I am working around my leather seats. I don't see alot of Tan interior conversions, but wanted to bring inside some of the red from the outside.

Thanks again for all the feedback. It is all being inputed for future builds.

I have a GMC Sierra next. Pretty much same truck.....

WOW! Thats different.......

Sorry but that look just doesn't float my boat, maybe it's the photos and it looks better in person, as long as you like it thats what matters.
I question the placement of the 15 and 996 at the rear of the console, it looks like they are too far back to actually see the screens from a normal driving position, again maybe it's just the way it looks in the photos. I would think having the units with the most on screen info up front in a better viewing location and the freq only displays of the 350's in back would be more user friendly. I hate to sound like I'm knocking someones work, I'm really not, just questioning what the photo angles seem to show.

15 and 996 is being moved to the back due to I have remote heads on the way for them. I am mounting the heads where the visors go. As for positioning, I do see your point, but I am very tall and I actually can look right to see. I usually know who's chatting by the dispatchers / persons voice and call sign.

The antenna farm looks like trash. Get a 8 port receiver multicoupler and put all the scanners on 1 antenna.
